  • Engine performance monitoring – Each and every parameters of the Main Engine is analysed, including consumption of cylinder lub oil, SFOC, speed acquired, Fresh water hygiene and chemistry, Lub oil analysis, scavenge space inspection, sludge collection at various operating conditions and a report is generated to overcome shortcomings if any.
  • Chain gears, tightening inspection and rectification – The chain gear and the tightness of the chain is inspected and rectified as necessary to ensure optimum performance.
  • Insitu inspection and causative analysis – In circumstances that may not favour immobilization of Main Engine for longer periods to undertake decarb, Insitu inspection through scavenge space is carried out to ascertain the condition of piston rings, crown, skirt, wear band, piston rod, liner and scavenge ports, so that the sequence of priority for the Units can be ascertained.Further inspection of camshaft and followers through inspection doors also can be carried out. Insitu inspections of crank webs for presence of any stress cracks are also carried out.
  • Unit decarb – Unit decarb with all calibration readings recorded in the Maker’s format is submitted along with specific photographs in the quickest possible time. The time taken for Unit decarb by our expert team is very less in comparison with that of others in the industry. However we don’t settle for lesser standard. Best standard in least down time is our guiding principle.
  • Liner renewal – Our teams are very proficient and immensely experienced in renewal of liners of all major players of the Main Propulsion Engines. The new liners are calibrated externally and internally prior renewal, in order to avoid wrong supply. In our vast experience, it has often come to our notice that the liners though of same bore comes in various configurations(i.e., in terms of no. of quills, position and nos. of O ring grooves, position of collar)thus leading to ambiguity, waste of precious time, and sometimes rendering ship immobilized without new suitable liner.
  • Fuel pump overhaul and renewal–Our team of experts are well experienced in carrying out this precision work. They carry out this task with greatest care and accurate precision. The slightest changes in the position of the racks are avoided by adequate marking and proficiency. Any changes that are required are also suitably adjusted in accordance with the requirement and operational parameters of the ME.
  • CSM survey – Our team assists the ship staff and make their tasks easy by carrying out the CSM items and submit it for the Surveyor’s inspection, thus reducing the load on the ship staff during the short stay at Ports and during loading and discharging operations.
  • DPT & Contact test – Exhaust valves and seat, cylinder covers are lapped and Prussian blue contact test is just part of our daily practice while carrying out these tasks. Adequate recommendations are offered based on the test result. Similarly during the Decarb routines, DPT checks are carried out as a matter of routine with greatest care on the various surfaces to ascertain their condition.
  • Bearings renewal– Bearings renewal is carried out with the utmost precision, as is our motto. Our teams have carried out renewal of all the main bearings of the Main Engine in the least down time, thereby benefitting the customer to be on charter on time. Our expert team members have gained the reputation of working in atomic clockwork precision.
  • Retro fit /upgrade kit installation– We also carry out/assist in installation of retrofit/upgrade kit installation of Main Engine to enable optimum performance.
  • Pre overhaul performance monitoring – All parameters of the engine at idle and various loads including operation of all safety cut outs/alarms will be analyzed, to conclude the defects and suitable recommendations will be submitted to rectify the abnormality in the parameters. Limitations in the operating load will also be noted and conditions leading to the limitations will be duly analysed and rectified. The course of rectification process to be adapted will be submitted.
  • External Condition assessment– All defective gauges, existing leakages,missing components/sensors will be assessed and rectification for the same will be carried out.
  • Dismantling and Internal condition assessment – On dismantling the static and dynamic parts, internal condition of each and every part will be conducted including the fresh hygiene. Defects if any will be duly addressed.
  • Cleaning and DPT – On cleaning the static and dynamic parts, DPT will be carried out on almost all the parts to identify thermal cracks, fatigues, stress cracks and any other minor surface defects.
  • Calibration – All parts will be calibrated, reports logged with their maximum permissible limits, reports submitted in the format as same as the Maker.
  • Bearing Inspection, Survey and renewal– Bearings will be withdrawn, inspected, wear pattern analysed, cleaned and if necessary will be renewed. Bearings will be thoroughly inspected in accordance with the classification society standards.
  • Gears inspection – All gears mating surface will be inspected, tested with DPT to analyse, stress, fatigue, crack or other defects, if any.
  • Camshaft inspection and analysis – Camshaft will be thoroughly inspected, causative analysis for defects if any will be carried out, rectified and renewal of camshaft, if required.
  • Fuel pump and cam followers’ condition assessment – Fuel pump overhaul, renewal, injection timing adjustment, will be carried out. It has been noted that cam followersand their seals are one of the most neglected part of the engine, that lead to damage of cam shaft and leakage of oil respectively. We make it a point to inspect all the followers, DPT it and renew their seals.
  • Clocking of shaft, alignment checks and deflection analysis –A thorough in-depth study is carried out while carrying out pre and post overhaul crankshaft deflection. The journals of the crankshaft are clocked to ensure absence of distortion, if suspected, and suitable necessary course of action is recommended, if present.
